Discovery Play Activities with Your Young Child: Ice Cream

The domains or ‘subject areas’ that comprise STEM are science, technology (computational thinking), engineering, and math.

Many STEM activities cross over more than one domain. For example, playing in a sandbox can provide opportunities to explore structure and properties of materials (science) – while at the same time incorporating counting numbers (math) of scoops of sand it takes to fill a truck. And children are always learning other domains, such as language and social emotional development.

How did this all come about? Learn about learning trajectories.
Our team has been collaborating with families, schools, home school settings, and professionals to come up with goals and instructions to help achieve these goals through our learning trajectories.
