General Guide to Adaptations

Description

Match pictures of baby animals to adult animals as a way to explore how babies and adults are similar and different.

Interactive Lesson

Materials

  • For easier grasping, glue thick cardstock to the back of photos or attach photos to large blocks.
  • Add velcro to pictures so that baby and adult pictures can be stuck together. This will help children keep from knocking pictures off from the matches they’ve already made as they work.

Instruction

  • Consider running a shorter, modified version of the activity. For example have children match fewer sets, etc.
  • Provide 5-10 seconds of wait time after asking children to pick a color
